With just 16 days left, Rasha Abdel Aal, the Head of the Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA), has reminded taxpayers that the deadline for submitting individual tax returns is fast approaching. Individuals have until March 31, 2024, to file their returns, while companies have until April 30, 2024.
In a recent announcement, Abdel Aal emphasized the Ministry of Finance’s dedication to fostering voluntary tax compliance. To assist taxpayers in this endeavor, the ETA has unveiled a robust support program that includes daily free seminars conducted by experienced instructors. These sessions aim to help taxpayers and accountants navigate the electronic filing process effectively and to address any questions they may have.
In addition to the seminars, various support committees are stationed across key professional syndicates, civil society organizations, chambers of commerce, and business federations, ensuring that assistance is readily available for smoother tax return submissions. Moreover, the Digital Services Center at the Treasury Headquarters in Lazoghly is equipped with the latest digital tools and a specialized support team to provide technical assistance to electronic filers.
Abdel Aal strongly encouraged all taxpayers to meet the upcoming deadlines by utilizing the electronic tax filing system and taking full advantage of the complimentary technical support offered. For those registered under specific categories—such as the First and Second Large Taxpayer Centers, the Large Free Professions Center in Cairo, as well as the Large and Medium Taxpayer Centers in Alexandria and Hurghada—returns must be submitted through the new core tax system available on the ETA’s website. All other taxpayers should file their returns via the designated tax services portal.
By being proactive and utilizing the available resources, taxpayers can ensure a smooth filing process ahead of the deadline.
