Who Needs to Declare Income in 2025?
Residents of the Ochakovo-Matveevsky district and beyond must ensure they file their income tax declaration for the 2024 fiscal year by April 30, 2025. Employees from the Federal Tax Service of Russia No. 29 in Moscow recently held a seminar to inform citizens about their tax obligations. If you received income from any of the following sources in 2024, you are required to submit a tax declaration (Form 3-NDFL):
Income Sources Requiring Declaration:
- Sale of Real Estate: If you sold property that you owned for less than the minimum required period.
- Expensive Gifts: If you received costly gifts from individuals who are not close relatives.
- Lottery Winnings: Even small winnings from lotteries must be reported.
- Rental Income: If you leased out property, you must declare the rental earnings.
- Foreign Income: Any income earned from foreign sources must be disclosed.
How to File Your 2025 Tax Declaration Online
The most convenient way to file your income tax return is through the online service “Personal Account of the Taxpayer for Individuals.” This allows you to complete and submit Form 3-NDFL without visiting the tax office in person.
Property Tax Deduction Benefits Explained
During the seminar, attendees also learned about property tax deductions. Taxpayers purchasing residential property or land in 2024 may qualify for a property tax deduction of up to 2 million rubles, based on actual expenses incurred.
Carrying Forward Unused Deductions
If you do not use the full deduction amount in a single year, the remainder can be carried forward to future tax periods until fully utilized.
