The State Tax Service under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic has announced a range of modern and user-friendly options for taxpayers to calculate and pay property taxes on residential real estate and land plots. These measures aim to simplify compliance ahead of the upcoming September 1 deadline.
Five Easy Methods to Pay Property Tax
According to Azamat Pazyilov, Head of the Department for Debt Collection Oversight at the State Tax Service, taxpayers now have five convenient channels to calculate and pay their real estate tax obligations:
- Online Personal Taxpayer Account: Available through the official portal, this service allows individuals to calculate and pay taxes digitally.
- Salyk.kg Mobile App: The official mobile application enables quick payment via QR code or bank card—no physical visit required.
- Banks and Postal Offices: Taxpayers can visit any participating bank or post office with their passport and the Real Estate Unit Code (ENU). Staff will calculate the tax amount and provide a unique payment code.
- Tax Office Branches: Citizens may also pay in person at local tax offices. “Just bring your passport—we’ll find your property in our system and calculate your tax within minutes,” said Pazyilov.
Taxpayers Reminded of September 1 Deadline
The tax is applicable to:
- Residential houses and apartments not used for business purposes
- Adjacent or privately held land plots such as garden, household, or subsidiary lands
Failure to pay by the September 1 deadline could result in penalties, so the tax authority is urging all property owners to act promptly.
The initiative reflects the government’s ongoing efforts to digitize public services and improve taxpayer experience through digitalization, transparency, and convenience.
